Mosque etiquette: dress modestly and pack socks for stone courtyards

When visiting the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia, or Süleymaniye Mosque, shoulders and knees must be covered, and women must wear a headscarf. Shoes are removed at the door and placed in plastic bags; bring clean, comfortable socks for the carpeted interiors.
