These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of SockTrip. By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.
The Service
SockTrip lets travellers share and discover practical tips about cities. Some tip content may be locked until you contribute an approved tip and receive a temporary access window. Features may change as we improve the product.
Accounts
You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or harm the community.
Your content
You keep ownership of tips, comments, and other content you submit. By posting, you grant SockTrip a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, display, moderate, distribute, and promote that content on and in connection with the Service. We may also quote excerpts of your published content on other websites, social media, and promotional materials, credited as “your username @ socktrip.com” (or “Anonymous traveller @ socktrip.com” if you posted anonymously). You confirm you have the rights to share what you post and that it does not infringe others’ rights.
Acceptable use
Do not post illegal, harmful, hateful, harassing, fraudulent, or spam content; do not impersonate others; do not attempt to scrape, attack, or disrupt the Service; and do not bypass access locks, captchas, or moderation. Tips should be genuine travel advice, not advertising dumps or copied material you do not have rights to use.
Moderation
Submissions may be reviewed before or after publication. We may approve, reject, edit metadata, hide, archive, or remove content, and may act on user reports. Moderation decisions are made to keep SockTrip useful and safe; they are not a guarantee that remaining content is accurate.
Access and contributions
Sharing a tip may unlock broader access for a limited period. Access windows, eligibility, and related rules can change. Unlocking access does not mean we waive our right to moderate or remove content.
No professional advice
Tips are user-generated opinions and experiences. They are not professional, legal, medical, or safety advice. Always use your own judgment when travelling.
Disclaimers
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, error-free operation, or the accuracy of community content.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, SockTrip and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill arising from your use of the Service.
Termination
You may stop using SockTrip at any time. We may restrict or end access if you breach these Terms. Provisions that should survive (including licenses already granted for published content, disclaimers, and limitations) will continue to apply.
Changes
We may update these Terms. The “Last updated” date will change when we do. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
