Balinese temple etiquette: always wear a sarong and selendang sash

Anonymous traveller

When entering any Hindu temple in Bali (like Uluwatu, Besakih, or Tirta Empul), both men and women must cover their legs with a sarong and tie a sash around the waist. Never climb on sacred stone shrines, and avoid stepping on daily flower offerings (canang sari) on pavements.
